Italian Language Professoressa Francesca Valentini

Professoressa Francesca Valentini, founder of La Scuola Appia Vecchia, VelletriProfessoressa Francesca Valentini is a native of Rome, and has lived there for most of her life.  She is an experienced teacher, holding a first class honours degree in modern Italian language and literature from the University of Rome. Professoressa Valentini has pursued graduate work, including masters degrees in Linguistics Studies from the UK and in the teaching Italian language and culture at Ca Foscari University in Venice. She speaks a total of six languages, including English and Japanese.

Professoressa Valentini has a particular affinity for England, having taught extensively at the Oxford Brookes University, Aylesbury High School ( a girls' grammar school), Amersham College, Aylesbury College, and at various companies requiring training in Italian for business, airlines, and embassies. She has conducted adult education classes at all levels in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, and private tuition for children and adults.

Along with her husband, Joe Cerullo, Professoressa Valentini opened the Italian residential school La Scuola Appia Vecchia in Velletri, just outside of Rome. She offers small group instruction in Italian language and culture to students of all ability levels in a pleasant residential setting.
